Principal component analysis of the associations between kinetic variables in cutting and jumping, and cutting performance outcome

This study, led by Neil Welch PhD, highlighted that high levels of reactive strength (or plyometric ability), rapid deceleration ability and putting force sideways into the ground are important factors in cutting performance

Principal component analysis of the biomechanical factors associated with performance during cutting

This study, led by Neil Welch PhD, found that faster cuts were related to getting lower, using a short ground contact time and maintaining the distance between the foot and the body through the cut. Leaning in the direction of the cut was also important for faster cuts.
